Analysis of Service Efficiency of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospitals in China Based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)

In order to optimize the allocation of health resources and promote development traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this research employs China Health Statistics Yearbook 2018 collect relevant data on TCM hospitals in 2017, DEA method is used construct a BCC model for evaluation service efficiency these 30 provinces (including autonomous regions municipalities directly under central government) across country. It found that non-effective are not operating efficiently, with excessive investment institutions, beds, staff, insufficient output visits, bed utilization, average length stay. Given this, attention promoting capacity should be paid following aspects: scientific resource, strengthened external policy control, improved internal management hospitals, optimized characteristic services establishment system.
